Privacy Policy

Ripple is built by Rother Tech on one principle: your body data belongs to you, not us. This policy covers the Ripple app for iPhone and Apple Watch.
What we collect
Nothing.
All your data lives on your device. We collect nothing, transmit nothing and have no servers. No account is ever required. No ads, no data selling, no analytics — and no third-party SDKs of any kind.
What stays on your device
Ripple stores only what you choose to log. Nothing else is recorded.

Ripple does not collect your name, email or any contact information; device identifiers or advertising IDs; IP addresses or location; or usage analytics, crash reports or behavioural telemetry.
How it’s protected
Your data is encrypted by iOS whenever your device is locked (NSFileProtectionComplete). Without your passcode or biometrics it cannot be read, even by someone holding the phone.
App lock
Optionally require Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode every time Ripple opens.
App switcher privacy
Ripple hides its contents from the iOS app switcher preview automatically.
No network
Ripple makes no outbound network connections, apart from the optional iCloud backup below — which is encrypted before it leaves your device.
Optional: Apple Health
If you turn on HealthKit in Settings, Ripple writes your logged flow levels to Apple Health as menstrual flow samples, and reads those same samples back to stay in sync. It reads no other Health data — not heart rate, activity, weight or anything else. HealthKit data never leaves your device via Ripple. Revoke access any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Ripple.
Optional: backup
Both backup methods are off unless you choose them, and both are encrypted on your device with a passphrase you choose, before anything is written anywhere.
iCloud backup
Your data is exported as a single file, encrypted on the device, and written to your own iCloud Drive, which is governed by Apple’s iCloud privacy policy. We never have access to your iCloud Drive or your backup. Ripple does not store your passphrase anywhere — if you lose it, the backup cannot be recovered.
File backup
Export the same encrypted file to any location you choose — AirDrop, a USB drive, another app. It never passes through any server.
Notifications
Reminders are local notifications, scheduled and generated on your device. They are not routed through any push server and never reach us. Turn them off any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → Ripple.
Apple Watch
If you add the Ripple complication, a cycle summary — current phase, day number and the countdown to your next period — is shared between your iPhone and Watch through Apple’s sandboxed App Groups channel. It never leaves your devices.
Children
Ripple asks users to confirm they are 13 or older before using the app, and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 — in line with COPPA and similar laws. Because we never receive data from any user, there is nothing for us to delete on our side: a child’s data exists only on their own device, and the device owner can erase it in Settings → Data Management → Delete All Data. If you believe a child under 13 is using Ripple, contact us and we’ll help.
Your control and deletion
Everything is on your device, so you are in control at all times. There is no account to close and no server-side data to request — because we have none.
Delete everything
Settings → Data Management → Delete All Data wipes every entry and preference and returns Ripple to its initial state.
Delete one entry
Tap any logged day in the Calendar view.
Uninstall
Deleting Ripple permanently removes everything it stored on the device.
Third parties
Ripple uses no third-party SDKs, frameworks or services — only Apple’s own (SwiftUI, SwiftData, HealthKit, WidgetKit, LocalAuthentication, UserNotifications). We do not share, sell or license your data to anyone, because we never receive it.
Purchases and Apple
Ripple is sold through the App Store, and Apple handles the purchase; we never see your payment details. Apple collects standard App Store information, such as downloads and any crash reports you allow iOS to send. That is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy (apple.com/legal/privacy), not this one.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top will be updated and the change noted in the App Store release notes. We have no way to contact you — we don’t hold your details — so check back occasionally. The core commitment will not change: your data stays on your device.
