Privacy Policy

Nerd Toolkit is made by Rother Tech. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with information. It is short because the app does very little.
What we collect
Nothing.
There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no telemetry. We operate no servers, so your device never talks to us. Nothing you do in the app is recorded, stored off your device, or sent to us — because there is no “us” for it to be sent to.
What leaves your device
Most of the app runs entirely on your phone. A few tools need the internet to answer your question, and each contacts a third party only at the moment you use that tool.

These services belong to other companies and have their own privacy policies. We have no relationship with them, no account with them, and we receive nothing back from them about you.
Nothing is sent unless you open one of those tools and ask it a question.
Permissions, and why each exists
Location
Used by the Wi-Fi Analyzer, and by nothing else. Android ties the results of a Wi-Fi scan to location permission: without it the operating system returns an empty list of networks, no matter what the app does. Nerd Toolkit never reads your position, never stores it and never transmits it. Deny this permission and every other tool works normally.
Microphone
Used by the Sound Meter, and by nothing else. The audio is measured as it arrives — the app computes a loudness figure from each block of samples and discards the samples immediately. No audio is recorded, written to storage, buffered for playback, or transmitted anywhere. The microphone is released the moment you leave the tool.
Camera
Used by the Tachometer, and by nothing else. The tool watches how the brightness of a small patch in the middle of the view flickers, and works out a rotation speed from it. Each frame’s brightness is measured and the frame is then discarded. No photo or video is recorded, saved or transmitted. The camera is released the moment you leave the tool.
Network and Wi-Fi state
Used to read your local address, your gateway, and the access point you are connected to. These values are shown on screen and stay on the device. The app does not request background location, contacts, storage, or any other sensitive permission.
Sensors
The Bubble Level, Inclinometer and Compass read the accelerometer and magnetometer. The Lux Meter reads the ambient light sensor. These are read only while their tool is open, stop as soon as you navigate away, and their readings are shown on screen and never recorded or transmitted.
Purchases
Nerd Toolkit is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Google Play. We never see your payment details, and Google’s handling of the purchase is governed by Google’s own policies.
Children
Nerd Toolkit is a general-purpose utility. It is not directed at children, and it collects no information from anyone, including children under 13.
Data retention and deletion
There is no data to retain or delete. Nothing is stored off your device. Uninstalling the app removes everything it ever held.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted at this address with a new date at the top.
